A “study” from EKOS Politics suggests that 95 percent of Canadians who plan to vote for the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) or the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) “have bought into .. disinformation.” Disinformation is apparently anything that EKOS founder Frank Graves doesn’t agree with.

Graves explained his methodology in the following post on X: “For this research, we tested four separate indicators of disinformation and we have constructed a disinformation index, a 12-point scale that measures how strongly respondents have bought into three pieces of disinformation and how strongly they reject one piece of correct information:”

He then gauges the level of belief in “disinformation” on providing the “right” answers to the following statements, the misinformed responses in brackets:

“Canada's economic growth lags well behind the G7 average [T]

Vaccine-related deaths are being concealed from the public; [T]

The right to bear arms is guaranteed in Canada's constitution [T];

Climate change is caused by greenhouse gas emissions. [F]”

This is how EKOS tabulated the results of it’s study: “A respondent receives three points for every statement they rate as completely true (or completely false in the case of greenhouse gases [sic] causing climate change); [a] respondent receives two points for every statement they rate as mostly true (or mostly false in the case of greenhouse gases [sic] causing climate change); and [a] respondent receives one point for every statement they skip (in other words, every statement they are unable to correctly categorize as true or false); respondents do not receive a point for skipping the statement on economic growth.”

Graves shows just how high the levels of disinformation are with this chart,

As the House of Commons heads back for its Monday session, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is on the verge of introducing a non-confidence motion against Prime Minister JustinTrudeau and his Liberal government, as Poilievre announced on September 11. Even though the loose coalition between the New Democratic Party (NDP) and the Liberals has ended, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh has said he will support Trudeau and the Liberals in Wednesday’s non-confidence vote.

Trudeau has stated that he has no intention of resigning and intends to lead his party in the next federal electron. “I’m not going anywhere,” he said.

The Liberals are about 20 percentage points behind the Conservatives, who would form a super majority government if an election were held today. The Liberals could end up in third or even fourth place.
