Actress Scarlett Johansson announced Thursday that she has reached a settlement with Disney after the company released 'Black Widow' on Disney Plus sabotaging the star's box office revenue.

"I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney," Johansson said in a statement on Thursday. "I'm incredibly proud of the work we've done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come."

Johansson sought a $50 million payout from Disney but terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

"I'm very pleased that we have been able to come to a mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson regarding 'Black Widow,'" Alan Bergman said, chairman of Disney Studios Content.

In July, Johansson sued Disney in Los Angeles County Superior Court for releasing "Black Widow" on its Disney Plus Premier Access platform, where account owners could purchase the film for $30. The actress claimed that the simultaneous release violated her contract by limiting ticket sales, depriving her of theatrical revenue. According to the lawsuit, box office renevue could have been between $30 million to $40 million.

Disney Studios fought back against the lawsuit and defended themselves by stating that the actress was paid $20 million for her starring role as Marvel's "Black Widow" and claimed that she received additional compensation from the release on Disney Plus.

According to the initial contract, Disney said that they would not release Black Widow simultaneously in Disney Plus; which was a breach in the contract.

Shortly after the suit, Disney reached a settlement with actress Emma Stone after simulteanously releasing "Cruella" on Disney Plus like they did "Black Widow."

Disney Studios said they will be releasing all upcoming blockbusters exclusively to theaters.
