An Afghan refugee allegedly tracked down and stabbed an immigration caseworker multiple times in Michigan on Wednesday. The Orion Township caseworker's job was to help immigrants assimilate into the country.

According to WXYZ, first responders answered a call where a man was "stabbed multiple times” on Red Boot Road near E. Silverbell and Kern roads in Oakland County, Michigan. The suspect in the case reportedly took off in a car but was later arrested and identified as a refugee from Afghanistan who was getting help from the victimized caseworker.

According to Fox 2, the caseworker was attacked in his own home by the Afghan refugee that he was trying to help settle into Michigan. The caseworker is in the hospital in critical condition.

"We don’t know specifically what his complaint was or his motive was because the individual that was attacked is in surgery, as we speak," Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said. "He was stabbed multiple times." Police have said that it is unclear why the Afghan refugee allegedly attacked the caseworker.

A defense attorney who deals with immigration issues, Elias Muawad, told reporters that there are a lot of issues with the current immigration system, "I’m not going to tell you that it happens all the time but statistically you don’t know who these people are, you don’t know what kind of criminal record they have, you don’t know what mental health issues they had."

This comes as lawmakers in Washington DC are discussing how to reform the immigration system that was left behind by former President Joe Biden as President Donald Trump has taken office. Trump issued several executive orders dealing with how to solve the record rate of illegal immigration happening in the country as he assumed the office this week, including the stoppage of catch-and-release policies as well as the CBP One app that served as an appointment-setting service for asylum claims for immigrants looking to cross into the United States.

These people do not embrace America, nor do they want to assimilate. Send them back.
