Actor Alec Baldwin crashed his Range Rover into a tree while driving around the Hamptons on Monday. He was driving with his brother at the time and crashed head-on into the tree.

The car, a white Range Rover, was smashed in the front. Baldwin, 67, was walking around talking on the phone as rain poured around him. Baldwin owns a summer home in the area, according to the New York Post.

Law enforcement arrived on the scene to assist them to shelter in the rain. The actor has been in the East Hamptons for the Hamptons International Film Festival, which runs from October 5 to October 13. "He has been out there all week, he attended films and moderated panels,” one source told the outlet.

In a video posted to Instagram, Baldwin addressed the crash, telling his followers that the car is not his, but his wife Hilaria’s vehicle. He said in the video that a "garbage truck the size of a whale" cut him off. “To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree, I hit a big, fat tree and crushed my car – my wife’s car. I crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that. But it’s all fine, I’m fine, and my brother’s fine,” he added.

Baldwin went on to praise the local police, including an "Officer Gerken" with the Hampton Police. “As nice as can be, as pleasant as can be about the whole thing,” Baldwin said of law enforcement's service.

During the video, he also praised and congratulated those who participated in the film festival.
