Andrew Scheer fought back on Wednesday when a reporter asked why he had no mask on while he was in the airport a day earlier.

Scheer released a statement on Tuesday explaining the incident and called the continuous questioning from reporters “ridiculous.”

"It was pretty self-explanatory yesterday," he said, “It's hard to believe this is actually your question and your followup when we're dealing with a prime minister that is under an investigation for ethics violations for the third time.”

"We're dealing with $300 billion worth of deficit with no recovery plan, with no budget this year, and you want to know how long I had my mask off yesterday after making a phone call? Come on, that's ridiculous."

In the initial statement, Kelsie Chiasson, a spokesperson for Scheer said, "Mr. Scheer wore a face mask while travelling to Ottawa [Tuesday]. He removed it to make a phone call. This picture must have been taken before he put it back on," said, acting director of communications for Scheer.”
