At a pro-Israel rally in Montreal, Quebec Sunday held to voice support for Israel amidst growing violence in the region, pro-Palestinian counter-protestors clashed with rally attendants and police officers in an attempt to disrupt and end the event. Anti-Israel counter-protestors threw rocks at participants of the rally.
Video from early on at the event shows rally attendants dancing to music and flying Israeli flags while counter-protestors across the street chant "Israel, terrorist."
The Palestinian counter-protestors eventually break through the police line, resulting in arguments and clashes with both rally attendants and officers.
Three people from the Palestinian side tried to steal a woman's Israeli flag, and reportedly pepper sprayed two women while on the Israeli rally side. As the three attempted to break up the rally, a man on a microphone tells rally attendants not to engage the counter-protestors.
Additional video footage shots fights between pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protestors in the streets, while police fight to keep the groups separated.
The Palestine counter-protestors set off fireworks in the streets, and set fire to garbage cans. Police responded with tear gas and shield charges.
