Armed standoff in Iqaluit, RCMP advises residents to stay away

Iqaluit RCMP is handling an armed standoff Monday morning, which it describes as a “dynamic situation that is quickly unfolding in the 200 block.”

Iqaluit RCMP is handling an armed standoff Monday morning, which it has described as a “dynamic situation that is quickly unfolding in the 200 block of the city.”

RCMP is asking that residents stay away from the 230-240 area.

Officers are at the location with their firearms drawn.

RCMP said in a news release that its “containment team” is on location and has the house surrounded.
