A Sunday morning fire at the Madison headquarters of Wisconsin Family Action, a local pro-life group, appears to have been the work of arsonists, according to local police.

Suspicions of arson have been aroused for many reasons, the main one being graffiti scrawled on the side of the building saying "If abortions aren't safe, then you aren't either."

According to local news, "crews were called early Sunday morning, and flames could be seen coming from the facility."

They went on to report that "Madison police and arson investigators have not determined the cause of the fire, but police confirmed at least one Molotov cocktail was thrown at the office during the incident."

The Madison Fire Department stated that "fire investigators believe this fire was intentionally set," and that “the incident is being investigated as an arson."

The fire department's statement continued:

"Our department has and continues to support people being able to speak freely and openly about their beliefs. But, we feel that any acts of violence, including the destruction of property, do not aid in any cause."

"We have made our federal partners aware of this incident and are working with them and the Madison Fire Department as we investigate this arson ... Specific details regarding the logistics of this update will be sent at a later time."
