Trans Antifa militant felony charged for attacking federal police officers with a knife outside Portland ICE facility: FBI affidavit

On Tuesday, June 24, federal authorities apprehended an armed subject who advanced on officers with a large knife outside the ICE facility in Portland, Oregon. Julie Mikela Winters, 47, born Christopher Hudson, has been charged with felony attempted assault of a federal officer, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.

The incident occurred during the ongoing Antifa occupation at the ICE facility located at 4310 SW Macadam Avenue, which has been under siege by black-clad militants for more than two consecutive weeks.

According to an FBI affidavit, Federal Protective Service (FPS) officers observed Winters attempting to ignite an incendiary device next to the guard shack of the ICE building at 11:15 pm. When officers approached Winters, the defendant allegedly reached into his backpack and pulled out a large 1-foot knife with a curved blade.

Winters proceeded to advance on federal officers with the blade in hand. "As officers attempted to get tactically positioned, Winters threw the knife at one of the officers' heads," according to court documents. The targeted officer was able to dodge the attack.

The defendant proceeded to run away but was subdued by an officer who deployed a Taser. When federal agents attempted to place Winters in custody, Winters resisted arrest and allegedly reached toward his waist in an attempt to pull out a second deadly weapon. "One officer saw Winters grab another knife," which resulted in the officer kicking the weapon away from Winters, according to the FBI affidavit. The second knife was described as a kitchen butcher knife.

Winters was successfully apprehended and transported to a holding cell at the ICE facility. Federal agents conducted an operation to retrieve the two knives, which were both recovered at the scene of the crime. The machete that was thrown in an attempt to impale an officer in the head was discovered on the property of an elementary school adjacent to the facility.

Journalist Andy Ngo, senior editor of The Post Millennial, revealed that Winters is a transgender Antifa militant who was born as Christopher M. Hudson. Additionally, Winters, who has expressed support for radical leftist causes, has a history of engaging in criminal acts of violence against police officers. He currently has an open 2024 felony case out of Multnomah County, where Winters has been charged with felony assault on a public safety officer, harassment, and third-degree escape, according to court documents.





The ICE facility in South Portland has been the target of persistent attacks since about June 6, when Antifa and leftist agitators mobilized to occupy the facility in solidarity with the Los Angeles anti-ICE riots. More than 20 people have been arrested and charged with suspected crimes committed during the 24/7 occupation. Charges have included assaulting federal police officers, blinding officers with high-powered lasers, disobeying lawful orders, and starting fires next to the facility after using materials to trap federal officers and personnel inside the ICE building.

An FBI special agent wrote in a probable cause affidavit that the majority of protesters have been dressing "in all black clothing, commonly referred to as 'black bloc,'" which is the militant uniform worn by Antifa. Black bloc is worn in an attempt to "prevent identification of individual actors by authorities," the FBI agent said in the affidavit.

Additionally, individuals have been captured on video taken by The Post Millennial delivering supplies, including riot and medical gear, to the anti-ICE demonstrators.
