On December 6, Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta cited the reversal of Roe v. Wade as one of the Justice Department's motivations for cracking down on pro-life activists.

She noted that it had, among other things, increased the government's tendency to utilize the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.

"Earlier this year, in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Supreme Court dealt a devastating blow to women throughout the country, taking away the constitutional right to abortion," Gupta stated, noting that in turn, the Justice Department was "increasing the urgency of [its] work, including enforcement of the FACE Act, to ensure continued lawful access to reproductive services."

The FACE Act, signed into law in 1994, "prohibits violent, threatening, damaging and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain or provide reproductive health services."

The Justice Department has claimed that the FACE Act is "not about abortions," and that it "protects all patients, providers, and facilities that provide reproductive health services, including pro-life pregnancy counseling services and any other pregnancy support facility providing reproductive health care."

Data shows, however, that it has been used disproportionately against those with a pro-life stance.

In the months since the Supreme Court's decision, pro-life pregnancy resource centers have become notable targets of the far-left, however, no charges were filed against any of the alleged attackers. Incidents involving pro-life activists, on the other hand, have resulted in dozens of charges being filed under the FACE Act.

Notorious pro-abortion militant group "Jane's Revenge" have committed numerous acts of violence and intimidation against pro-life pregnancy centers and churches across the country over the past few months.

In a statement, the FBI said that the incidents were "being investigated as potential acts of domestic violent extremism, FACE Act violations, or violent crime matters," however no charges have been filed against any of the alleged attackers.
