This is the 44th shipment of equipment from Department of Defense inventories to Ukraine since August of 2021.
On Monday, the Department of Defense announced that the Biden administration would be sending another $200 million Ukraine assistance package. This is the 44th shipment of equipment from Department of Defense inventories to Ukraine since August of 2021.
The package includes munitions for Patriot air defense and High Mobility Artillery Rocket systems, mine clearing equipment, artillery rounds, tank ammunition, anti-armor systems, 37 tactical vehicles, 58 water trailers, and 12 million rounds of small arms ammunition and grenades.
This comes less than a week after the Biden administration sent another $200 million arms package to Ukraine with money freed up by a $6.2 billion "accounting error" by the Pentagon.
As of July 10, the Biden administration had reportedly sent $76.8 billion in aid to Ukraine, according to the Council on Foreign Relations.
$46.6 billion of that was military and security assistance, $26.4 billion was financial assistance, and $3.9 billion was humanitarian assistance.
A poll from early August found that 55 percent of Americans oppose sending more aid to Ukraine as the war continues, and that "the US Congress should not authorize additional funding to support Ukraine."
