Biden watched dog Commander bite Secret Service agents multiple times, kicked, punched pets: report

Agents would, on occasion, wish each other a "safe shift" if they knew they'd be in close proximity to the animal.

It has been revealed that Joe Biden was present on at least three instances when his former dog, Commander, bit Secret Service agents. Biden reportedly treated the dogs poorly, kicking and punching them at times. The german shepherd and his predecessor, Major, are believed to have been responsible for around three dozen attacks before they were removed from the White House earlier this year and in 2021, respectively.

Documents obtained by Judicial Watch via a Freedom of Information Act request showed that agents were not fond of working with Commander. They would, on occasion, wish each other a "safe shift" if they knew they'd be in close proximity to the animal.

"While POTUS and Commander were in the Kennedy Garden I was standing half way from the Book-Sellers and the Family Theater," one agent wrote, recalling an incident on September 12, 2023. "POTUS opened the Book-Seller door and said [redacted]. As I started to walk toward him to see if he needed help, Commander ran through his legs and bit my left arm through the front of my jacket. I pulled my arm away and yelled no."

He explained that Biden "also yelled [redacted] to Commander," and "then [redacted]. I obliged and Commander let me pet him."

"When turning to close the door, Commander jumped again and bit my left arm for the second time," he continued. "POTUS again yelled at Commander and attached the leash to him. My suit coat has 3 holes, 1 being all the way through. No skin was broken."

A source also told Judicial Watch that Biden was not caring to his own pets, sometimes kicking and punching his dogs.

Following an incident in September 2023, a Secret Service Safety, Health & Environmental officer wrote an email asking, "Can we please find a way to get this dog muzzled?" Just months later, the 2-year-old pup was handed over to relatives of the first family.

While the president was with Commander when it attacked people on other occasions, the most serious incidents took place when he was elsewhere.

Between Oct. 2022 and June 2023, there were at least 22 biting incidents with Commander. 10 of these bites required medical treatment. In one bite incident, East wing tours were closed to the public for 20 minutes due to blood being on the floor.
