When asked about the allegations laid forth in the documents released, Gates said they weren’t true.
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has spoken out after the Department of Justice released a massive number of documents in the case of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, in which Epstein claimed that Gates had wanted to get antibiotics to give to his then-wife without her noticing, and that Gates had allegedly gotten STDs from "Russian girls."
Speaking with 9 News Australia, Gates said he met Epstein in 2011, and that over a period of three years, "I had a number of dinners with him."
"The focus was always, he knew a lot of very rich people, and he was saying he could get them to give money to global health. You know, in retrospect, that was a dead end. And I said many times, but I’ll say again, I was foolish to spend time with him. I was one of many people who regret ever knowing him."
When asked about the allegations laid forth in the documents released, Gates said they weren’t true. "Apparently, Jeffrey wrote an email to himself. That email was never sent. The email is false, so I don’t know what his think was there. Was he trying to attack me n some way? But it just reminds me every minute I spent with him I regret and I apologize that I did that."
The reporter asked, "The problem is some of the things that hashe has sent and some of the information about other people that has come up in those files has been true. Why would he fo this and say this about you do you think?"
Gates replied, "you know, it’s factually true that I was only at dinners, you know, I never went to the island, I never many any women, and so, you know, the more that comes out, the more clear it’ll be that although the time was a mistake, it had nothing to do with that kind of behavior."
In one email released by the DOJ, Epstein appeared to write to himself that Gates demanded him to "please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda and the description of your penis. You also made it clear to me that I am not to refer to [redacted] as that is another topic that must remain between the two of us."
In a separate email released by the DOJ, which Epstein sent to himself and appeared to be from the point of view of Boris Nokolic, Gates’ then-top advisor. it alleged that he helped Gates "get drugs" to "deal with the consequences of sex with russian girls, to facilitating his illicit trysts, with married women, to being asked to provide adderall for bridge tournaments, as I am a medical doctor, but have no prescriptions writing ability."
