Bill Maher did not hold back in criticizing the Democratic Party following Vice President Kamala Harris’s defeat to President-elect Donald Trump, labeling the left as “losers” and telling them they need to “look in the mirror.”

During the monologue of his HBO show Real Time on Friday night, Maher, who has been a vocal critic of Trump for years, urged Democrats to reflect on their shortcomings. Maher had previously predicted that Harris would win the election but conceded that he “did not vote for the winner.”

“I did not vote for the winner, we’ll see what the winners do now. They won, now they have reality they have to deal with. We’ll see what they do,” Maher said.

Maher quickly turned his focus to the Democratic Party, offering a blunt assessment.

“My message to the losers: losers look in the mirror,” Maher advised, as the audience sat there silently. "No? Well, maybe you should. Well, that’s my feeling. Losers look in the mirror."

The comedian continued, pointing out that Democrats had repeatedly asked how the race could even be close. “For months Democrats have been saying, ‘How is this even close?’ and they’re right, it wasn’t,”  Maher said. “They could not conceive of a second Trump term, but they should’ve. When does America ever turn down seconds? I mean, come on.”

“Look, this is just the facts. It’s just the facts. Trump won all the swings–all seven–and he ran the table,” he added.

Maher went on to highlight how Trump’s broadened appeal toward multiple demographics helped him win the election. This comes as Trump led the Republican Party in making substantial gains among Hispanic, Asian, and black voters, particularly male voters. Trump also won a majority of white female voters

“But he did better in every demographic. The exit polls said that he grabbed 52 percent of white women... he also got their votes,” Maher admitted.

Later on during the show, Maher called democrats “exclusionary,” declaring, "You're brats, and you're snobs, and people don't like that."
