Black Panther Angela Davis asked to pay reparations after Mayflower ancestry revealed

"Your ancestors came on the Mayflower," Gates confirmed. "no no no," Davis replied.

Angela Davis, a far-left activist, communist, and former Black Panther, discovered on a recent episode of PBS' Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. that she is one of the select Americans who are descended from the Mayflower Pilgrims and that her ancestors were slave owners, revelations causing some to demand she pay reparations.

On Tuesday, Gates tweeted a clip from the episode which had him presenting her with the genealogical research proving her heritage. "Any idea what you're looking at?" He asked. "That is list of the passengers on the Mayflower?" Davis replied. "No, I can't believe this, no. My ancestors did not come here on the Mayflower."

Matt Walsh posted on Twitter, "On her father's side is a pilgrim. On her mother's side is a slave owner. Looks like Angela Davis owes some reparations."

"Your ancestors came on the Mayflower," Gates confirmed in the clip.

"no no no," Davis replied and continued to say "no" as Gates continued.

"You are descended from one of the 101 people who sailed on the Mayflower," he said.

"That's a little bit too much to deal with right now," replied Davis.

"Did you ever in your wildest dreams think that you may have descended from people who laid the foundation for this country?"

"Never. Never. Never. Never," she said.

"Angela Davis is a colonizer. Angela Davis owes me reparations," one Twitter user said.

"tfw when the oppressed becomes the oppressor," wrote Manhattan Institute fellow Christopher Rufo.

79-year-old Davis, a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and former member of the Black Panther Party and Communist Party USA, was involved "in the armed takeover of a California courtroom" in 1970, reports Fox News. Guns registered to her were used in the courtroom incident, which saw four people killed. She was placed on the FBI's Most Wanted List and later jailed. She was eventually acquitted of conspiracy to commit murder charges.

Further revelations from the television program, which uses DNA research to track down a person's genealogy, showed that Davis was also the progeny of a slave owner, Stephen Darden, who fought in the Revolutionary War.

"Angela Davis, an openly Marxist professor at the U of CA, just found out that some of her ancestors are the 'white racist colonizers' that she’s been teaching against her whole life! Not only that - she’s a descendant from a slave owner. Looks like she owes reparations," tweeted another user.
