Attorney General Pam Bondi has said that the Department of Justice if working to denaturalize and revoke the citizenship of criminals who once immigrated to the US.

Bondi made the comments on Fox and Friends on Friday morning. She was asked if there would be more people in the US who are denaturalized.

"There are a lot of them. And just to put it in perspective, under the four years when President Biden was in office, he moved to denaturalize 24 people—four years. Under President Trump, already 22 within a year. And these are bad people. They were sent to prison under Trump 45. Bad people, arms smuggling, millions of dollars of health care fraud."

Bondi then said that some of the immigrant criminals who were put into prison under the first Trump administration were later let out under the Biden administration. "Then under Joe Biden, they get out, they serve their sentences. He lets these criminals. He let them stay in our country. No longer under Donald Trump.

"We're going to have a safe country. We're going to have an honest country, and we're moving to denaturalize them as fast as we can and get them out of our country," she added. The comments from Bondi come as the DOJ was able to secure the denaturalization of two people who were able to obtain "U.S. citizenship through fraud." The DOJ also "sued to revoke the citizenship of a third person that secured naturalization by marriage fraud."

“American citizenship is a sacred privilege — not a cheap status that can be obtained dishonestly,” Bondi said of the recent denaturalization cases. “These actions reflect this Department of Justice's ongoing efforts to strip citizenship from people who conceal crimes or defraud the American people during the immigration process.”
