"There’s gonna be a lot of people that are happy with that, myself included."
Aaron Rodgers has been ousted from ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show for the rest of the season.
The show’s host said during his Wednesday show that "Aaron Rodgers Tuesday season four is done." According to the New York Post, Rodgers was scheduled to appear on the program through the Super Bowl. However, McAfee decided to give him the boot.
"There’s gonna be a lot of people that are happy with that, myself included."
"I’m happy that that is not going to be my mentions going forward, which is great news. We’re a conversation show, people are having conversations, we live in a country that has freedom of speech, but also you’re gonna have to deal with the consequences of your freedom of speech," McAfee said.
McAfee said that "we’re very lucky to get a chance to chat with [Rodgers} and learn from him. Some of his thoughts and opinions though do piss off a lot of people and I’m pumped that this is no longer gonna be every single Wednesday of my life, which it has been for the last few weeks."
Earlier in January, late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel threatened to take legal action against Rodgers after the New York Jets player suggested on the show that Kimmel may have ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Kimmel said that Rodgers' "reckless words" have endangered his family. He warned Rodgers to cease such statements, emphasizing that further discussions on the matter might unfold in a court of law.
"Dear Aasshole [sic]: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any “list” other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality. Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court. @AaronRodgers12" Kimmel posted on X.
During the ESPN interview, Rodgers implied that Kimmel was among the individuals who frequented Epstein's infamous private island, allegedly taking advantage of the underage girls trafficked by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
The comments in question came ahead of the widely anticipated release of Jeffrey Epstein documents.
"A lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, are really hoping that doesn’t come out," Rodgers said.
