Nashville-based Baste Records has signed a single song deal with Five Times August that will feature former The Offspring drubber Pete Parada.

The record company said in a press release that the collaboration "marks an exciting new chapter" in Five Times August’s career as the two join for a single titled "Ain’t No Rock and Roll," which is expected to be released in the coming months under the guidance of Baste Records.

"We are thrilled to welcome Five Times August to the Baste Records family," said Matthew Azrieli, Baste Records CEO. "Brad Skistimas has a unique ability to craft music that resonates deeply with listeners, and we are honored to support and amplify his artistic vision. We believe that this partnership will lead to extraordinary musical experiences and open up new horizons for Five Times August."

Five Times August, a solo act featuring Skistimas, "has garnered a loyal and dedicated fan base with his true reflections on today’s society, soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics," and is known for "his ability to capture raw emotions singing about modern day issues," the press release stated.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Baste Records on this upcoming single release. Their reputation for excellence and commitment to nurturing artists aligns perfectly with my artistic goals. I can't wait to share this new music with the world and embark on this exciting journey with Baste Records," Five Times August said.

The team at Baste Records, known for its "history and commitment to nurturing exceptional, freedom-loving talent," will be working closely with Five Times August to "deliver a captivating and powerful musical offering to their fans worldwide," with the partnership promising to showcase Five Times August’s "immense talent" while amplifying their reach in the music industry.

Parada was notably kicked out of The Offspring after 14 years in 2021 after he refused to get the Covid-19 vaccine due to is medical condition.

The 48-year-old drummer has Guillain-Barré syndrome, which is a rare disease that causes the immune system to attack the nervous system, with the drummer stating that his doctor advised him against getting the vaccine, as it would be more dangerous than the virus itself.

In a Twitter thread at the time, Parada wrote, "I caught the virus over a year ago, it was mild for me - so I am confident I’d be able to handle it again, but I’m not so certain I’d survive another post-vaccination round of Guillain-Barré Syndrome."

"The risks far outweigh the benefits," he said.

Parada noted that he wanted to "make sure I’m not carving out a space that is only big enough for me. I need to state, unequivocally, that I support informed consent - which necessitates choice unburdened by coercion."

Since leaving The Offspring, Parada has been featured as the drummer for Tim Pool’s single "Only Ever Wanted."
