After the assassination attempt on Donald Trump on Saturday, Department of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas has pledged to "recruit, retain, and elevate women" in law enforcement. The DHS is over the Secret Service, the agency which has come under fire for DEI practices, including quotas for women in the security force, after the attempted assassination on Trump.

Mayorkas posted a statement in response to worries about DEI in the agency saying, "In the days following the attempted assassination of former President Trump, some people have made public statements questioning the presence of women in law enforcement, including in the United States Secret Service."

"We in the United States Department of Homeland Security - the largest law enforcement organization in the federal government - will, with great pride, focus, and devotion to mission, continue to recruit, retain, and elevate women in our law enforcement ranks. Our Department will be the better for it, and our country more secure," Mayorkas added in the statement.

Director of the Secret Service (USSS) Kimberly Cheatle, who has come under heavy scrutiny in the days following the Trump assassination, has said that the agency wants to have 30 percent women by 2030. In past interviews the USSS director has said, "I'm very conscious as I sit in this chair now of making sure that we need to attract diverse candidates and ensure that we are developing and giving opportunities to everybody in our workforce, and particularly women."

After many pointed out that women in Trump’s USSS detail at the rally were not able to cover the six-foot-three-inch GOP nominee, Trump was seen with a USSS detail that was made up of nearly all men at the RNC. Three female USSS agents had attempted to shield Trump after the shooting took place.

Yep, those short, dumpy, out-of-shape DEI female SS agents really make an impact.
