Lewis' publicist Jeff Abraham said, "His wife, Joyce Lapinsky, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship and support and asks for privacy at this time."
Comedian Richard Lewis, who starred alongside Larry David in Curb Your Enthusiasm, has died from a heart attack at the age of 76.
According to Variety, Lewis announced in April that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and that he was retiring from stand-up comedy. Lewis was seen in Season 12 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which is currently airing on HBO.
Lewis' publicist Jeff Abraham told Deadline, "His wife, Joyce Lapinsky, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship and support and asks for privacy at this time."
Lewis played a partially fictionalized version of himself throughout the 24 years of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and has made appearances on The Tonight Show, the Late Show With David Letterman, and starred in movies such as Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Leaving Las Vegas since rising to prominence in the 1980s and 90s.
