Witnesses reported a "massive explosion" near the 64-story luxury building.
During an afternoon press briefing, authorities said that at least one person was killed and seven others were injured in the explosion. The person killed is believed to have been inside the Cybertruck. Las Vegas Metro Police urged the public to avoid the area. The incident occurred just after 8:40 am at 2000 Fashion Show Drive.
ABC News was informed by an official who was briefed on the investigation that the Tesla Cybertruck was carrying a quantity of firework-style mortars. Investigators are working to determine the driver's motivation, and are probing the matter as a possible terrorist attack, per the network.
