The flight, from Minneapolis-St. Paul, was listed as Endeavor 4819, a CRJ-900 (N932XJ). It is believed that the plane could have flipped due to a strong crosswind.
According to MSNBC, one child has been transported to the Sick Kids hospital with "critical injuries," one patient in his 60s is at St. Michaels with "critical injuries," and another patient, a woman in her 60s, is being booked as well for critical injuries. At least 15 people total were injured.
"Delta Connection Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air crashes upon arrival at Toronto Pearson Airport. The aircraft, a CRJ-900 (N932XJ), was en route from MSP. The airport is reportedly closed. Emergency response is underway," reports Airways Magazine.
"Delta is aware of reports of Endeavor Flight 4819 operating from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Toronto-Pearson International Airport as involved in an incident," Delta told Daily Mail in a statement. "We are working to confirm any details and will share the most current information on as soon as it becomes available."
"Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for," Toronto Pearson's official X account posted.
"We're in Toronto. We just landed, our plane crashed. It's upside-down. Fire department's on site. Most people appear to be okay, we're all getting off," said one passenger who recorded a video of himself by the plane.
Peel Paramedic Services say at least eight people are injured following the crash, reports CityNews. There were reportedly around 80 people on board.
U.S. Representative Sean Duffy provided an update on the Delta Air Lines crash in Toronto, confirming that investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are on their way to the scene.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) will take the lead in the investigation, with U.S. authorities offering assistance. "I’ve been in touch with my counterpart in Canada to offer assistance and help with the investigation," Duffy stated.
The Association of Flight Attendants released a statement following the crash-landing.
"Our union is responding to an incident in Toronto with Delta Air Lines Endeavor Flight 4819. AFA crew were working this flight," the statement read.
"Reports are there are no fatalities. Please do not speculate on this incident as everyone works to gather information and support those involved."
