Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told Fox News on Tuesday that the male DNA profile found on a glove located two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home did not match any entries in the FBI’s DNA database.

Nanos added that DNA recovered from Guthrie’s residence also failed to produce any matches. He confirmed that the profile on the glove is distinct from the DNA collected inside the home.

“We're hopeful that we're always getting closer, but the news now, I think, is we had heard this morning that, of course, the DNA on the glove that was found two miles away was submitted for CODIS. And I just heard that, CODIS had no hits,” Nanos said.

Previously, authorities said that a black glove recovered near Nancy Guthrie’s home could match one worn by a masked man captured on doorbell camera footage. In the video, a man wearing black gloves, carrying a backpack, and armed with a gun is seen tampering with Guthrie’s front-door camera. Law enforcement sources told TMZ the items discovered are being compared to the gear seen in the footage.

Last Wednesday, the FBI announced on X they were “conducting an extensive search along multiple roadways in the Catalina Foothills area related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.” Hours later, The New York Post reported that a single black glove had been located about a mile and a half from Guthrie’s residence, near desert shrubbery.

NBC affiliate KVOA said another glove, possibly matching, was found in the vicinity, and both items were submitted for DNA testing, to no success.

Authorities have also been contacting manufacturers and retailers in an effort to track the origin of the gloves and other items linked to the incident.

Officials are urging anyone with information related to the items or the case to come forward as searches continue across the Catalina Foothills area.
