Eye witnesses revealed during the trial Thursday that Joseph Rosenbaum lunged for Kyle Rittenhouse's rifle and made death threats against the defendant.
Jurors heard testimony from Richie McGinniss, the Daily Caller's chief video editor, who was near Rittenhouse when he shot Rosenbaum. In the footage, Rosenbaum appeared to be chasing Rittenhouse before he was shot.
Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger, the prosecutor in the high-profile Rittenhouse case, was questioning McGinniss when the reporter dropped the bombshell during the intense exchange Thursday.
Binger asked McGinniss: "You don't know as you sit here today, what Mr. Rosenbaum was thinking, do you?"
"You mean at the time of the shooting?" McGinniss asked.
Binger replied, "Yes. Or at any point in his life. You have no idea what Mr. Rosenbaum was ever thinking at any point in his life. You have never been inside his head. You've never met him before. You don't know."
"I've never exchanged words with him if that's what your question is," McGinnis answered the prosecutor. To which, Binger further questioned McGinnis: "So your interpretation of what he was trying to do or what he was intending to do or anything along those lines is complete guesswork, isn't it."
McGinniss replied, "Well, [Rosenbaum] said, 'F*ck you', and then he reached for [Rittenhouse's] weapon." The moment was caught on camera and the clip has been entered into evidence as part of new compiled footage that shows the shooting from an aerial angle. "F*ck you" can be heard at the 1:49 second mark.
Another eye witness, Ryan Balch, said during testimony that Rosembaum threatened him and Rittenhouse, who was present during the alleged death threat.
"If I catch any of you guys alone tonight, I'm going to f*cking kill you," Balch said Rosenbaum told them, "yelling and screaming," after the eye witness said he warned one of the Black Lives Matter rioters not to be destructive.
