Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has proposed March 4, 2024 as the start date for the trial of 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and those indicted alongside him, Reuters reports.

According to the court filing, Willis is also seeking for arraignments of the group to take place the week of September 5, 2023.

Willis indicted Trump and 18 others on Monday on charges that include violations of the state RICO Act, solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer, false statements and writings, impersonating a public officer, conspiracy to commit impersonating a public officer, among others.

Willis has demanded that Trump and the others "voluntarily surrender no later than noon on Friday, the 25th day of August 2023."

The March 4 date is less than one week before Georgia's presidential primary election, which is set to take place on March 12.

The proposed start date also comes just weeks before the scheduled March 25 start date for Trump’s trial in Manhattan over felony falsifying business records charges.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
