"These procedures do not meet professionally recognized standards of health care."
Shortly after taking office for his second term, President Donald Trump signed an executive order countermanding former President Joe Biden's order on trans inclusion. Trump said "my Administration will defend women’s rights and protect freedom of conscience by using clear and accurate language and policies that recognize women are biologically female, and men are biologically male."
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. signed a peer-reviewed declaration on Thursday affirming that "these procedures do not meet professionally recognized standards of health care. Under the declaration, practitioners who perform sex-rejecting procedures on minors would be deemed out of compliance with those standards."
"The American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, peddled the lie that chemical and surgical sex rejecting procedures could be good for children who suffer from gender dysphoria," Kennedy said. The House on Wednesday passed a bill to criminalize ;child sex changes.
"They betrayed the estimated 300,000 American youth, ages 13 to 17, conditioned to believe that sex can be changed, they betrayed their Hippocratic oath to do no harm. So called gender affirming care has inflicted lasting physical and psychological damage on vulnerable young people. This is not medicine. It is malpractice we're done with junk science driven by ideological pursuits, not the well being of children." This is a major advancement for Americans who believe in reality and know that no person can actually change sex from one to another. The motivation behind child sex changes is to ensure that a child who has come to believe that they were meant to be the opposite sex can better resemble that opposite sex when they are grown-ups.
Puberty blockers are administered to stop natural puberty from occurring, and then cross-sex hormones are delivered so that the child gains the secondary sex characteristics of the opposite sex. These include facial hair and a lower voice for women and stunted growth and breast growth for young men. These are irreversible changes and can result in infertility, bone loss, problems with brain development, uterine atrophy in girls, and diminished penis size in boys.
"The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will release a notice of proposed rulemaking proposing to bar hospitals from performing sex-rejecting procedures on children under age 18 as a condition of participation in Medicare and Medicaid programs," HHS states. "Nearly all U.S. hospitals participate in Medicare and Medicaid and this action is designed to ensure that the U.S. government will not be in business with organizations that intentionally or unintentionally inflict permanent harm on children. CMS is proposing this rulemaking pursuant to its longstanding authority in sections 1861(e)(9), 1871, and 1905(a) of the Social Security Act, which authorize the agency to establish standards necessary to protect patient health and safety in Medicare- and Medicaid-participating hospitals."
In addition to the withholding of funds from these hospitals, the USDA has issued warnings to retailers that sell breast binders for use in girls to give them the appearance of a flatter chest. These binders diminish lung function and cause long-lasting problems. They are meant to be used for mastectomy patients during cancer treatment.
HHS is also removing gender dysphoria from the Biden era's list of disabilities. "The rule would reassure recipients of HHS funding that policies preventing or limiting sex-rejecting procedures do not violate Section 504’s disability nondiscrimination requirements," HHS states.
"Assistant Secretary of Health, Admiral Brian Christine, today, signed a public health message to inform health care providers, families and policy makers that current evidence does not support claims that puberty blockers cross sex hormones and surgeries are safe and effective treatments for pediatric gender dysphoria," Kennedy said.
"These announcements are grounded in evidence and shaped by compassion. President Trump has made Child Protection a national priority. The make our children healthy. And strategy demonstrates that commitment, sex, rejecting procedures Rob children of their futures. The Maha commission strategy report calls for an end to over medicalization of our children. Unnecessary medical interventions drive big money interests and push sex rejecting treatments today's revenue for sex, rejecting drugs and surgeries in 2023 were estimated in one study to exceed $4.4 billion and on track to exceed 7.8 billion by 2030."
