BREAKING: JD Vance refers medical child sex change providers to DOJ for prosecution over fraud

The Trump administration on Thursday released a new report detailing how hospitals have placed profits over the safety of children in prescribing so-called “gender affirming” medical treatments, such as sex-change surgeries and hormones. Vice President VD Vance announced that he has referred the matter to the Department of Justice.

In a letter to Attorney General Todd Blanche, Vance wrote that he is referring the report to the DOJ “to determine whether the providers identified have violated federal law, regulations, or policies including, but not limited to, the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the False Claims Act, 18 USC 24, and federal fraud and conspiracy laws.”

He continued, “When providers miscode treatment in order to secure insurance coverage for gender-transitioning interventions that insurance would not otherwise cover, they should be held accountable. If they have done so intentionally, thereby perpetuating a fraud on Medicaid or on private insurers, they should go to prison. Rather than allow the proliferation of harmful, sex-rejecting procedures on our children, we must sent a clear message that any hospitals and providers that have participated in these practices will face justice.”
 

In a video, Vance said, “Parents bring their children to doctors because they trust them. They trust doctors to tell them the truth, and they trust hospitals to put their children ahead of ideology and profit. But when that trust gets violated, parents deserve to have a government that will stand up for them and for their kids and do something about it.”

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr said the report’s findings “raise serious questions about what families were told, what insurers were told, and how these procedures were built.”

Assistant Secretary for Health Admiral Brian Christine said, “Under the previous administration, my predecessor Richard Levine promoted what he called gender-affirming care for minors, and there's nothing caring about that. These are sex-rejecting, mutilating transgender procedures promoted by the Biden administration, and thanks to President Trump's leadership, we're changing course.”

 

The report, titled Wolves in White Coats: How Doctors and Hospitals Pushed and Profited from the Fraud of “Gender Medicine,” stated that “The provision of sex-rejecting procedures for minors expanded rapidly within U.S. pediatric healthcare systems, often under the questionable banner of medical necessity.” It began with a small handful of specialized clinics in the early 2010s, growing into 225 hospitals and healthcare systems offering such procedures by the early 2020s.

“Financial incentives may explain at least some of this development. Pediatrics remains the lowest-paid medical specialty, with average physician compensation significantly below that of surgical or procedural fields. Thus, pediatric departments in large academic medical centers and hospital systems traditionally generate thinner margins—and thus presumably wield less influence—compared to adult cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, and other medical and surgical specialties,” the report stated.

“Gender clinics changed that calculus by introducing a novel source of revenue: they promised a new stream of continuous revenue for pediatrics, endocrinology, and surgical specialties by taking physiologically healthy young people—who otherwise would not need to seek medical attention, and rendering them dependent for life on the medical system.”
