BREAKING: Joe Biden calls for Trump to be ‘locked up’ during NH campaign stop

President Joe Biden called for the imprisonment of former President Donald Trump while campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris in New Hampshire on Tuesday. Speaking to a room full of Harris-Walz supporters at the state's Democratic campaign office, President Biden declared: "We got to lock him up!"

The assertion comes after the Trump campaign and GOP politicians have accused President Biden and Vice President Harris of allegedly weaponizing the Department of Justice to target the 2024 GOP nominee, who has faced many federal criminal indictments since Biden's presidency in 2021. 

It's unclear why President Biden wants to see Trump behind bars, but his declaration was met with a room full of cheers and laughter. As the crowd cheered, Biden attempted to soften his statement, adding "politically lock him up."

After a Manhattan jury convicted Trump guilty of 34 felony offenses in his falsified business documents case in June, a future potential jail stint does not seem out of the question. Trump now faces jail time and was scheduled to be sentenced in September before Judge Merchan moved the hearing back until after the presidential election.

Trump, who is facing additional charges in multiple cases, including the 2020 Georgia stolen election case and the January 6 riot at the US Capitol, has maintained his innocence in all of them, claiming that each indictment has been the result of "witchhunts" by a weaponized Justice Department under the Biden administration.

The GOP nominee has not yet responded to President Biden's Tuesday remarks.
