On the campaign trail in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, incumbent President Joe Biden spread the "bloodbath hoax" as he spoke to the audience.

During the campaign speech, Biden said that Trump "means it" when he called for a "bloodbath" when the former president did not do so. At the time of the comments, Trump was talking about an economic bloodbath in the auto industry

"He called—you know he means it. He calls for another bloodbath when he loses again," Biden added. He then suggested that Trump wants another January 6 if he does not win the election.

The "bloodbath" comments stem from a quote of Trump taken out of context in a speech he gave in Ohio last month.

At the time, President Trump was addressing an audience in the rust belt state and said, “If you’re listening, President XI. Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars as now we’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those guys if I get elected.”

Trump then, referring to the car industry said, "Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — That’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country.”

In days following the clip being reported on out of context by many in the corporate media, 40 percent of Americans in a poll done by Rasmussen Reports thought that Trump was talking about political violence instead of the car industry.
