" Upon evaluation, it was established he had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up that led to Senator Fetterman feeling light-headed, falling to the ground and hitting his face with minor injuries."
The Senator's X posted: “During an early morning walk, Senator Fetterman sustained a fall near his home in Braddock. Out of an abundance of caution, he was transported to a hospital in Pittsburgh. Upon evaluation, it was established he had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up that led to Senator Fetterman feeling light-headed, falling to the ground and hitting his face with minor injuries.
"Senator Fetterman had this to say: ‘If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now!’ He is doing well and receiving routine observation at the hospital. He has opted to stay so doctors can fine-tune his medication regimen. Senator Fetterman is grateful for the EMTs, doctors, and nurses who are providing his care."
The hospitalization comes as Fetterman remains a divisive figure in the Democrat party. In a recent interview with journalist Bari Weiss, Fetterman said that being “devoted to Israel [is] becoming increasingly incompatible with being a proud Democrat.”
Since the attack on Israel by Hmas October 7, 2023, Fetterman has been one of the Dems' most vocal pro-Israel voices in Congress. His Senate office walls are lined with posters of Israeli hostages — displays he has refused to take down despite pressure from activists.
“My heart breaks for what the Jewish communities suffered, especially after 10/7,” Fetterman said in the interview. “I’ve met former hostages and widows raising eight children on their own. Those are heroes.”
Fetterman has also publicly credited President Donald Trump for negotiating the ceasefire that led to the release of Israeli hostages earlier this year, describing it as a “historic peace plan” and a “breakthrough” in the conflict.
