Representatives for Karmelo Anthony in his murder case in the killing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf called the police on Metcalf's father for showing up to a Thursday press conference that they were holding.

According to ABC 8, the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN), which is a Dallas-based activist group that has taken on the role of publicly defending Anthony, called the police and asked Jeff Metcalf to be removed from the scene.

Anthony has been released from jail and placed under house arrest after being charged with the murder of Austin Metcalf. Anthony admitted to stabbing Metcalf at a track meet, according to police. He has claimed self-defense in the case that has garnered national media attention.

Dominique Alexander, who helps head the NGAN, commented that it was "disrespectful" for Metcalf's father to show up. "The father being at this press conference, these are my words, don't quote anybody, is a disrespect to the dignity of his son," he said.

Alexander then said that the NGAN has "respected the loss of life" of Metcalf, and "have not attacked" Metcalf after his death. Jeff Metcalf shook the officer's hand and left the scene without incident. Although Anthony has had a court order placed on him to not have contact with the Metcalf family, he was not at the press conference.

"He knows that it is inappropriate to be near this family. But he did it," Alexander added. "Actions speak louder than words."

The press conference continued only when Jeff Metcalf left, escorted out by law enforcement.

'... it was "disrespectful" for Metcalf's father to show up.' Typical response from this demographic after one of 'those' murdered this father's son.
