Trump has been allowed back onto the ballot in Maine thanks to the state's Superior Court.

On Wednesday, the court issued a stay of Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows' move to prevent Trump from being a candidate, arguing that no decision should be made until the Supreme Court of the United States has handed down its ruling.

According to Fox News, in addition to staying Bellows' ruling, the court denied Trump's motion to "supplement the record" and "stay proceedings."

The matter was remanded to Bellows "for further proceedings as necessary in light of the United States Supreme Court’s forthcoming decision in Trump v. Anderson," the case against the former president in Colorado that also seeks to keep him off the ballot there.

"As part of this remand," the court wrote, "the secretary is ordered to await the Supreme Court's decision in Anderson, and no later than thirty days after Anderson’s issuance, to issue a new Ruling modifying, withdrawing, or confirming her prior Ruling dated December 28, 2023."

In both states, those attempting bar Trump from running in 2024 have argued that he should be ineligible via 14th Amendment's insurrection clause.

"Today, Maine’s Superior Court ruled to keep President Trump’s name on the ballot," said Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung, "pending a decision from the Supreme Court of the United States in the Colorado case. This is a correct action, and we remain steadfast in our opposition to these bad-faith shams.

"President Trump is confident that we will ultimately prevail with a fair ruling on the issues in front of the Supreme Court. In states across the country, Crooked Joe Biden and his Democrat apparatchiks, through Soros-funded front groups, have weaponized the institutions of government to interfere in the upcoming election and disenfranchise over a hundred million voters. The Democrats are desperate to cling to power by any means necessary. We will not stop fighting the remaining bogus, bad-faith 14th Amendment ballot challenges and President Trump looks forward to winning the state of Maine later this year, being re-elected in November, and he will Make America Great Again.”"
