Republican candidate for Wisconsin's 7th district Michael Alfonso is projected to win the primary, and with that, likely become the youngest person to ever be elected to Congress at 26 years old.

Alfonso, who was endorsed by Trump ahead of the primary and is a newcomer to the policial scene, will likely take the seat that was held by Rep. Tom Tiffany, who ran for governor. Alfonso ran a campaign focused on personal freedoms, affordability, as well as leading the way for younger generations in the GOP.

In an appearance on Human Events with Jack Posobiec on Tuesday with his wife Evita, Alfonso told the host that he wants a message of hope for younger people: “Look, the traditional values—get married young, have kids young—this is the path to happiness. Not this oppressor versus oppressed mentality where you hate everyone and everything."

Alfonso, who is also the son-in-law to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, told NewsNation on Monday, “We need to have young Republicans who can actually go out and message to these young people and talk about the issues they care about — affordability, owning homes, raising families. That’s what I’m doing.”

Trump campaigned for Alfonso, joining two tele-rallies with the candidate, including one on Monday. He was endorsed by the president in early May.

“It is my Great Honor to endorse MAGA Warrior, Michael Alfonso, a young ‘STAR’ who is running to represent the incredible people of Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District. Michael is the son-in-law of our GREAT Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, and the wonderful Rachel Campos-Duffy, of FoxNews, one of the most popular (and talented!) anchors in all of Television,” Trump said at the time in a Truth Social post.
