Law enforcement has identified the man responsible for stabbing 11 people at a Walmart in Michigan on Saturday afternoon.

42-year-old Bradford James Gille was arrested and is currently facing one count of terrorism and 11 counts of assault. Gille entered a Walmart in Traverse City, where he proceeded to stab 11 individuals with a knife.

Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea told the media that law enforcement is "very confident" Gille is responsible for the attack. Gille has multiple past arrests that include criminal mischief as well as drug offenses.

According to the New York Post, Gille is the possible author of two books available on Amazon that depict him as a born-again Christian. One autobiographical book details how he had dreams of his past lives.

Some of those New Testament dreams of mine portrayed me as Jesus Christ or God and him as Judas Iscariot,” the book says.

The incident reportedly unfolded on Saturday afternoon around 4:45 pm when the suspect entered the Walmart and used a folding knife to stab 11 individuals, prompting a response from police and emergency personnel after receiving calls about a stabbing. Within minutes of the attack, a sheriff's deputy arrived and took the suspect into custody.

Munson Healthcare confirmed on social media that 11 people were being treated at the largest hospital in the region. All individuals were stabbing victims. By late Saturday, six victims were in critical condition, and five were serious.

At the time, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer said her office was in communication with law enforcement regarding the "horrible news." FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino also stated the bureau was responding to “provide any necessary support.”

Traverse City is located roughly 255 miles northwest of Detroit. According to the Associated Press, Walmart issued a statement confirming it was working with law enforcement, saying, "Violence like this is unacceptable. Our thoughts are with those who were injured and we’re thankful for the swift action of first responders."
