The school "can try and shut us down but they will not silence us!!!"
Penn State shut off the mics at a “You’re Being Brainwashed” tour event featuring Turning Point Action founder Charlie Kirk as well as a senior editor at Human Events Jack Posobiec on Thursday. The event speakers switched to megaphones.
According to a post from Posobiec, the school cut the mics that the political commentators were using at the event. The school has a policy against amplification, but the crowd of students was so large that the extra help to carry voices was necessary..
"They cut our mics. But they couldnt stop us," Posobiec said.
TPUSA contributor Morgonn McMichael posted on X that the school "can try and shut us down but they will not silence us!!!" She posted the caption with a video of her with a blowhorn with students all around her chanting "USA, USA!"
Thousands of students attended the rally, as they have across the country at Kirk's college tours. Recently huge crowds showed up for Kirk in Pittsburgh, PA and Madison, WI. At Penn State, the tour signed up 350 to register to vote and 1,500 for Turning Point.
Kirk said of the tour event, "Penn St. has some of the best energy so far on our You're Being Brainwashed campus tour. And we're producing results: 1500+ student sign ups and 350+ voter registrations!!" When the event began, there were a handful of protesters waiting to oppose the speakers.
The "You're Being Brainwashed Tour" is set to visit the University of Montana and Ohio State University in upcoming weeks. Tickets for the next event at the University of Montana on Sept. 30 are available.
