BREAKING: Portland leftist CONVICTED of assault on federal officer at ICE facility after DOJ retries case following mistrial

A Portland leftist has been convicted of assaulting a federal officer during an Antifa direct action outside the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Southwest Portland. Oriana Korol, 39, pleaded guilty on Thursday to misdemeanor assault on a federal agent, court documents show.

This comes after the Department of Justice (DOJ) retried the case against Korol following the jury's failure to reach a verdict in May, which led Judge Karin Immergut to declare a mistrial.

Korol, a clarinetist for the Antifa-affiliated "Unprecedented Brass Band," admitted to kicking and biting a Federal Protective Service (FPS) officer while being detained for interfering with a separate arrest during a large-scale anti-ICE demonstration. She pleaded guilty before US Magistrate Judge Youlee Yim You in the US District Court for Oregon.

The incident occurred on October 12, 2025, at the height of left-wing civil unrest outside the Portland ICE facility.

According to court documents, Korol was captured on video footage pulling a male protester away from federal officers who were attempting to arrest him. An FPS officer pushed Korol out of the way, knocking her to the ground.

While on the ground, Korol kicked an FPS officer in the right leg. She was placed under arrest but resisted. During a struggle, Korol proceeded to bite the officer's left arm with her teeth, according to the affidavit. It took several federal agents to take Korol into custody.

Korol, a clinical family therapist, had arrived outside the ICE facility with her band to participate in the "Emergency World Naked Bike Ride" protest.

Assistant US Attorney Katherine Rykken described Korol's actions as "violent," and caused the officer "reasonable apprehension of bodily harm."

Under the plea deal, Korol is expected to avoid jail time. She will likely receive credit for time served and one year of federal supervised release. Korol must also stay away from the Portland ICE facility located in the southwest waterfront neighborhood.

The US Attorney's Office for Oregon has federally charged more than 40 anti-ICE demonstrators for a variety of offenses committed since June 2025, including arson, assault of federal officers, and depredation of government property. Many of them have been convicted, with some of them receiving years-long stints in jail.
