To close out CPAC 2024, the results of a straw poll found that Donald Trump is by far the favorite candidate for the Republican nomination.

Trump received 94 percent of the vote, while former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley received just 5 percent. The announcement of the results comes as South Carolinians vote in their primary election.

90 percent of attendees said Trump would be better in his second term.

The survey also asked attendees who they think Trump should pick as his vice president, with Vivek Ramaswamy and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem tied for first place at 15 percent of the vote. Tulsi Gabbard received 9 percent support, Elise Stefanik received 8 percent, as did Tim Scott, and Byron Donalds received 7 percent support.

Other names on the list of potential vice presidential picks included Kari Lake, Ron DeSantis, Tucker Carlson, and Robert F Kennedy Jr.

47 percent of CPAC attendees said if Joe Biden wasn’t the Democrat nominee, Michelle Obama would be the nominee for 2024, followed by 32 percent who said California Governor Gavin Newsom, and 6 percent said Vice President Kamala Harris.

The poll was conducted between February 21 to 24 of 1,478 CPAC attendees.

During his speech on Saturday afternoon, Trump said he would conduct the "largest deportation in American history" after illegal immigration under BIden’s term has resulted in record-high border crossings.

"Four years ago I told you that if Crooked Joe Biden got to the White House our borders would be abolished, our middle class would be decimated, and our communities would be plagued by bloodshed, chaos and violent crime," Trump commented. "So, believe me when I offer you another warning... If Crooked Joe Biden and his thugs win in 2024, the worst is yet to come."

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
