Former President Trump has been declared the winner of the California Republican primary against his only remaining GOP primary challenger, former UN ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

The latest Super Tuesday contest was called by the Associated Press shortly after 8 pm PST, with Trump receiving around 72 percent of the vote at the time.

The race was called shortly after the former President concluded a victory speech following decisive wins in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Trump said during the victory speech, “They call it Super Tuesday for a reason. This is a big one.”

“There's never been anything so conclusive," he added. This was an amazing, an amazing night, an amazing day. It's been an incredible period of time in our country's history.”

Races in Alaska and Utah had yet to issue results at the time of his speech.

Tuesday’s victories added to Trump's dominant wins in Idaho, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Carolina and the US Virgin Islands.

Haley has so far only managed a narrow victory in Vermont and a win in the Washington DC GOP primary.
