A second pro-life activist was sentenced to prison time of nearly 2 years after protesting at an abortion clinic in 2020 and being convicted on Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act charges in 2023.

Johns Hinshaw, 69, married 37 years with six children, was sentenced to 21 months in prison in federal court on Tuesday on charges of violating the FACE Act.

Hinshaw will get credit for the 9 months he has served leading up to his sentencing hearing.

The sentencing comes after Lauren Handy, who was in the group that protested the clinic with Hinshaw, was sentenced to 57 months in prison earlier in the day.

Handy, prior to her sentencing earlier in the day, made a statement about the events, saying, "It has been close to 9 months since I was abruptly ripped from my community. This has led me to think long and hard on what to say about my sentencing today in federal court. Some drafts were angry and righteous while most were just a tearstained longing for my loved ones back home. Yes, this time has been challenging but I refuse to be jaded. Why? Because life goes on... even in jail."

A third pro-life activist, William Goodman, is expected to be sentenced later on Tuesday overseen by Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of the US District court in the District of Columbia.

According to Life News, Hinshaw was being held in federal custody at the Alexandria Detention Center in Virginia prior to the sentencing on Tuesday. 6 others involved in the case were also being held in custody at the detention center leading up to the hearing.
