A spokesperson said the incident happened after Giuliani stopped to help a woman who was a victim of domestic violence. “Mayor Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence prior to the accident. He rendered assistance and contacted 911, remaining on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” the spokesperson stated.

Doctors expect America’s Mayor to remain at a Manchester-area hospital for another two to three days before being released. He will be required to wear a brace while recovering from the fractured vertebrae.
His business partner, Maria Ryan—a nurse who has been assisting with his medical care—said he is undergoing additional evaluations. “He’s getting further tests and stabilization of his injuries."
The full statement reads: "On the evening of August 30, 2025, in New Hampshire, Mayor Giuliani was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Prior to the incident, he was flagged down by a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident. Mayor Giuliani immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911. He remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety.
Following this, while traveling on the highway, Mayor Giuliani’s vehicle was struck from behind at high speed. He was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg.

Giuliani has remained in the background for President Donald Trump’s second term, having previously served as a member of the president’s legal team during the first administration. The former mayor earlier this year announced that he had reached a settlement with two 2020 Georgia election workers who had won a defamation case against him In.
Giuliani said in a statement, "I have reached a resolution of the litigation with the Plaintiffs that will result in a satisfaction of the Plaintiffs’ judgment. This resolution does not involve an admission of liability or wrongdoing by any of the Parties. I am satisfied with and have no grievances relating to the result we have reached."
"I have been able to retain my New York coop and Florida Condominium and all of my personal belongings. No one deserves to be subjected to threats, harassment, or intimidation. This litigation has taken its toll on all parties. This whole episode was unfortunate. I and the Plaintiffs have agreed not to ever talk about each other in any defamatory manner, and I urge others to do the same."
In October, a federal judge ordered Giuliani to hand over his Manhattan penthouse apartment, watch collection, signed sports memorabilia, his Mercedes, and other valuables to Georgia elections workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss. A jury in December 2023 awarded the two workers $148 million.

They’ve proven your father 100% correct. His father was treated so unfairly. Your father has been 100% correct. And tell him we all love him, okay?”
Trump announced in May that he has appointed the younger Giuliani as Executive Director of the President’s Task Force on the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as well as Carlos Cordeiro as senior advisor.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is being held jointly by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
