On Wednesday the Senate voted to confirm Tulsi Gabbard as the next Director of National Intelligence. It passed with a vote of 52-48.

Gabbard's confirmation was advanced on February 4 in a 9-8 vote from Senators on the Intelligence Committee, and on Monday her confirmation passed the last hurdle of a procedural vote in the Senate in order to advance to the final vote. The vote was in favor of invoking cloture 52-46.

Gabbard said during her confirmation hearing, "If confirmed as Director of National Intelligence, I will continue to live by the oath that I have sworn at least eight times in my life, both in uniform and as a member of Congress. I will support and defend our God-given freedoms enshrined in the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same."

In the days leading up to Gabbard's confirmation vote, Republican lawmakers Todd Young and Susan Collins, who had voted against confirming Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, said they would be casting their ballots for Gabbard.
