The shots occurred as Trump was speaking.
Shots were fired at Donald Trump during a rally for him on Saturday in Pennsylvania.
The incident occurred as Trump was speaking to the crowd. As Trump was speaking, the shots could be heard and he reached up to his neck, where blood could be seen.
Blood spattered on his cheek as the pops were heard. Secret Service agents rushed the stage and brought Trump to the ground as the apparent shots rang out. After he got up, Trump was seen pumping his fist as he walked off the stage with the agents. The events unfolded as the rally occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Supporters in the crowd ducked as popping noises rang out, with some screaming as the incident occurred.
Senior Congressional Correspondent for Fox News, Chad Pergram reported, "Trump campaign: President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow."
When Trump pumped his fist in the air, some were seen clapping and cheering. Commentators posted their reactions to the events, with Tim Pool saying, "My god... Trump Just Survived An Assassination Attempt."
Savannah Hernandez posted in reaction, "Donald Trump’s reaction to almost being assassinated was straight powerful. Wow."
Cernovich posted in response, "When the lawfare didn’t work, this happens. Leads you to wonder who or what is behind today’s assassination attempt."
Charlie Kirk posted, "For four years, the left ranted and raved about 'stochastic terrorism,' claiming Trump was egging his supporters on to random acts of violence. It was always a lie, and it was always projection. The left stoked an environment of hate and hysteria with their shrieking about 'the end of democracy.' And today, we saw the end result of that."
