Multnomah County Sheriff's Office posted in response, "A small aircraft has crashed into residential neighborhood in Fairview. PIO is responding. Media staging area is NE Sandy and Fairview Parkway."
The Federal Aviation Administration said in response to the crash, "We do not yet know how many people were on board. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate." According to NBC News, the crash sparked a five-alarm (severe) fire and Portland Fire & Rescue was "assisting with fire fighting operations."
Video of the incident was caught by the Ring doorbell of a neighbor across the street from the home that the plane crashed into. Gresham Fire Chief Scott Lewis said on Saturday that the two people on the plane and the one person in the townhome are missing, but not deaths are confirmed. Five families have been displaced.
There are also some reported power outages in the area. The extent of injuries or deaths was not immediately clear.
