Steven K. Bannon was released from the FCI Danbury federal prison on Tuesday morning and is set to host his War Room podcast. He will be holding a press conference in New York later in the afternoon.

"Steve Bannon is a free man," said Natalie Winters, who has been hosting War Room since Bannon reported to prison on July 1.

Jack Posobiec announced that not only is Bannon out of prison, but that he'll be hosting War Room shortly after his release. Posobiec is expected to join him on air. He was greeted by his daughter Maureen and the two embraced outside the facility.

Bannon was released from the federal facility at 3:15 am and said "I'm not broke, I'm empowered." With Election Day only a week away, Bannon said he expects the election to be contentious after all the votes are cast.

"If people think American politics has been divisive before, you haven’t seen anything," he said, per The New York Times.

Upon his release, he said "If you're not prepared to go to prison to fight for your country, you're not prepared to fight for your country." He was imprisoned after a conviction on contempt of Congress charges for refusing to turn over communications between himself and Donald Trump in the lead-up to and aftermath of the January 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol.

The subpoena came from the January 6 committee and Trump had retained executive privilege over that correspondence. He released it, allowing Bannon to comply with the subpoena, but Congress decided to go ahead and press charges anyway.
