A 14-year-old boy allegedly carjacked and raped an 87-year-old woman at the Waukesha Public Library while she was returning her books. It has been reported by Wisconsin Right Now that the boy is the nephew of Cavalier Johnson, who is running for mayor of Milwaukee.

Current Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has been appointed to an ambassadorship in Luxembourg, and upon his departure, Cavalier will be the acting mayor.

The teen allegedly held the woman at knifepoint on November 30, and had only recently moved to Waukesha from Milwaukee. He then forced the woman into her car and "drove around while forcing the woman to perform sex acts on him."

His name has not been published. However, Captain Dan Baumann confirmed the details of the case. "This incident is sad and disgusting, but I’m very mindful of the privacy issues surrounding with both victim and suspect," he said. Waukesha police have also not given much information, stating that the community doesn't need "more bad news."

Parents at Les Paul Middle School, where the boy attends, received an email from the school on the day of the attack. It read that the school went "into a lockdown security measure. This was done in a response to an event in the community." The lockdown was released five minutes later after "an all-clear" by the Waukesha PD.

The crime became apparent after a resource officer at the school "observed the elderly woman in distress in the parking lot and went out to talk with her," Wisconsin Right Now reports.

She was apparently trying to get an officer's attention by waving down an empty squad car. The suspect was found a short time later by police in the woman's car. he was then taken into custody. Police found items belonging to the woman at the boy's home.

The boy's mother has been trying to fundraise for his defense on Facebook. She wrote: "He has looked up to his uncle who is in politics his whole entire life inspiring to be just like him."

"My son came into a group of young men who he thought were his friends and talked him into doing something that he should’ve had a mind-frame strong enough to know it was a terrible decision and now the county is declared him a menace to society," she wrote.

The teen may be tried as an adult.
