The win adds to his winning streak ahead of Super Tuesday.
The Associated Press called the projection at around 5 p.m. local time in Idaho, adding to his winning streak ahead of Super Tuesday.
Trump was projected to win the lion’s share of the vote, around 85 percent, on Saturday evening with two thirds of the votes counted. Former South Carolina Gov. and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley came in second in the caucus and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has dropped out of the race, managed to pull in a few votes.
With 32 delegates available in Idaho, Trump is projected to add all of them bringing his count up to 247, according to CBS News.
The last time the Gem State held a Republican caucus was in 2012 when Mitt Romney, now a senator for Utah, was running for the presidency and faced off against former President Barack Obama.
Caucus goers convened at around 1:30 as well as 12:30 p.m. local time in various locations in Idaho to vote. It was a closed caucus, and only Republicans could participate.
