Supporters and protestors have been gathered outside the courthouse since Tuesday morning.
On Monday afternoon, 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump arrived at a federal courthouse in Miami to be arraigned on 37 federal charges stemming from the alleged mishandling of classified documents.
Supporters began gathering outside the courthouse in the morning, including one who arrived in a truck covered in pro-Trump graphics. Others broke out into chants of "USA."
Fellow GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was also present outside the courthouse. He was the only one in the Republican field to come in person to support Trump, and pledged to pardon the former president should he win the presidency.
Protestors also gathered outside the building including one person who carried a large "Trump Arrested" sign.
Antifa members are set to arrive at the courthouse on Tuesday afternoon, intending to "celebrate" the indictment and to "dance in the streets for the abolition of the presidency."
Miami Antifa suggested that attendees wear masks to disguise their identities and warned there would be a significant police presence. "We know these clowns well and are well prepared. Community defense is not taken lightly down here. However its an exceedingly dumb place to pull a gun, we're expecting massive police presence -- which we are prepared for as well."
Police responded to reports of a "suspicious package" in the late morning hours, clearing out the lawn in front of the courthouse as they investigated. The item in question was reportedly a television that was strapped to a light pole.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
