"She is a true threat to democracy. She'll destroy our nation."
Former President Donald Trump held a rally in North Carolina where he directed sharp criticism at Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her the most "radical, far-left extremist ever to occupy the White House." Harris has been on the campaign trail for just a few days and has already leveled false statements agaisnt Trump, his intentions, and his record.
Trump's attacks against Harris come as she is poised to become the official Democratic nominee for president after receiving enough delegate support within the party. She was installed at the top of the ticket by Democrat Party elites after Biden dropped out of the race though she hasn't actually received any votes. The DNC intends to nominate her to secure her candidacy in advance of their convention. Trump dismissed Harris' chances of winning the general election.
"This November the American people are going to tell her 'No thanks, Kamala. You've done a terrible job. You've been terrible at everything you've done... Kamala, you're fired!'" Trump told the North Carolina crowd.
Trump's attacks against Harris mostly centered around her radical legislative history. He pointed out that during her time as Senator, Harris' voting history was the most left-wing of any Democrat in the Senate. Trump claimed that she, "makes Bernie [Sanders] look like a moderate."
Concerning ongoing questions about incumbent President Joe Biden's cognitive ability to serve in office, Trump placed the blame on Harris for lying to the American public about Biden's health.
"If Kamala will lie to you so brazenly about Joe Biden's mental incapacity, then she will lie to you about anything. She can never, ever be trusted.”
Trump also pointed out how Harris decided to skip Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday. Instead, she spoke to a gathering of a sorority. Trump labeled Harris as "totally against the Jewish people" and claimed that the Democratic Party is treating Jewish people poorly amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.
"Even if you're against Israel or you're against the Jewish people, show up and listen to the concept," Trump pointed out.
"She is a very bad person and she shouldn't be running for president," Trump concluded. "She is a true threat to democracy. She'll destroy our nation."
