Donald Trump has left his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, en route to Washington, DC, where he will face his third arraignment.

The former president has been accused of attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Trump is scheduled to appear before Magistrate Judge Moxila A. Upadhyaya around 4 pm EST on charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction, and conspiracy against the right to vote and to have one’s vote counted.

"I am being arrested for you," Trump told his supporters via Truth Social.

Increased security has been set up outside the E. Barrett Prettyman Courthouse in anticipation of protests.

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi explained that the force would be working in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police Department, US Marshals Service, US Park Police, US Capitol Police and the Federal Protective Service "to ensure the highest levels of safety and security for the former president, while minimizing disruptions to the normal court process."

The judge overseeing the case, Tanya Chutkan, has a "reputation for being far left, even by DC District Court standards," according to Sen. Ted Cruz. She had handled over 38 cases related to January 6, and handed down convictions to every defendent.

She matched or exceeded the sentencing recommendations of the Department of Justice in 19 cases, including handing down jail time to four defendents despite official guidance saying it wasn't necessary.

"The likelihood that a DC jury will vote to convict Donald Trump is exceptionally high," Cruz added. "The facts don't matter. The laws don’t matter. They hate him. That's a big part of the reason why the Biden DOJ wants to bring this case in DC, which means with a far-left judge and a far-left jury, there is a very real possibility that Donald Trump ends up being convicted."

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
