Trump described Scharf as “Tough, Strong, and Smart,” saying he “loves our Country, and respects the Law.”
Trump praised Warrington for his “outstanding work” as White House counsel and as an attorney for Trump’s 2024 campaign. He also said Scharf has done an “amazing job” in his current positions. Scharf will move into the White House’s top legal role after overseeing administrative operations involving the Oval Office. He also chairs the National Capital Planning Commission, which approved plans for the president’s White House ballroom.
The incoming counsel has previously represented Trump in several legal matters, including cases that reached the Supreme Court. Scharf is also a former federal prosecutor who clerked for two federal appeals court judges before working as a private attorney.
He earned degrees from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
